If a threatening email is sent within a school, the crisis team, or the persons designated by the school for this, must be activated, says Vriezelaar of School & Safety. “Communicating with parents, students, teachers and other staff is very important, as is following the incident protocols. Schools must already have this in order in peacetime and luckily they usually have that. It does require maintenance to ensure that the protocols are properly maintained between the to have ears, that sometimes gets dull.”
