Equipped with a pretend machine gun, a 23-year-old man terrorized several Luleå residents when he went around threatening people. Now the man is sentenced to over three years in prison, NSD reports.

The man drove around in his car and stopped on several occasions to threaten people. He was also in contact with SOS Alarm and stated to them that he was armed and that he intended to shoot or stab police officers.

When the man is at a gas station, where he threatens a shop assistant, the police arrive and, in an attempt to stop the man’s progress, shoot him in the legs.

A forensic psychiatric investigation shows that the man suffered from a serious mental disorder at the time, which he himself caused through intoxication. In the trial, the man was judged to be healthy and therefore not in need of care.
