The landlord had enough of the tenant after threats, harassment and a Russian flag in the window.
Now the rental board has decided to terminate her lease.
“Fuck you”, “You are idiots”, “Fuck you fashits”, the woman wrote to the landlord, among other things.
It started with harassment and threatening emails to the landlord, shortly after the woman moved into the apartment.
Among other things, she was dissatisfied with the landlord because she felt that they did not act quickly enough on her fault reports, the newspaper reports Home & Rent.
“Fuck you”, “You are idiots”, “Fuck you fashits”, the woman wrote, among other things, to the landlord’s staff in connection with a fault report.
Hanged out the staff
The tenant threatened to hang the staff on social media, and named an employee on a rating site, accusing him of accepting bribes and selling cannabis.
The woman is also said to have cut down the bushes in the yard and neglected to report bed bugs, which according to the cleanup company went on for at least eight months before it was discovered.
Hung up Russian flag
She also hung a Russian flag outside her window. Something that the host considered a disturbance.
– Our policy is that flags and other things are not allowed to hang outside windows or balconies. The reasons are safety and that it should be complete, clean and tidy, says Eva Rosengren, head of MKB’s group that works against improper rental conditions for Hem & Hyra.
The woman claims that she hung the flag only as protection from the sun.
The rental board: “Serious”
Despite the fact that the landlord, the municipal housing company in Malmö, MKB, warned the woman several times, the disturbances continued.
The housing company finally had enough and reported the woman who refused to move out to the police. The case was tried by the rental board, which has now decided the issue.
With the help of warning letters, photos, emails, screenshots and witness interviews, the landlord has been able to prove the woman’s threatening behavior.
The woman denies the accusations and believes that the dismissal is discrimination. She also claims that her e-mail was hacked and that her mobile phone was stolen by a friend.
However, the board regards the woman’s behavior as serious and forces the woman to leave her apartment immediately.
Fact: Then you can be fired
The landlord can basically fire you at any time BUT you don’t have to move unless there are good reasons for it.
In Sweden, tenure protection is strong. In short, this means that you do not have to move even if the landlord terminates the lease.
Should you be dismissed but do not want to move, you contest the dismissal and stay until a legal review is completed.
If you are a member of the Tenants’ Association, you contact a lawyer there as soon as you receive a notice of termination.
There are situations when the host can get right against you. This applies, among other things, if you have not paid the rent or have paid late. If you have disturbed your neighbors or misbehaved. Or if the house is to be demolished or completely rebuilt.
