There was a harsh reaction from Russia to YouTube. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that if YouTube blocks press conferences once again, Western journalists in Russia will be expelled.
“GO BACK TO THEIR HOME”
Spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova stated that the daily press conferences broadcast by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on YouTube were blocked. Stating that they will respond if this situation is repeated again, Sözcü Zaharova said, “A few of my press conferences were blocked. We told them. If you block another press conference, a journalist or US media organization will return home. We will state his name, and he will return home,” he said.
Zakharova’s statement comes days after the Russian parliament passed a bill authorizing prosecutors to close foreign media offices in Moscow if a Western country is “hostile” to Russian media.
