The competition director and founder of the Swedish Floorball cup, Fredrik Ohlsson in Västervik, is very pleased that the cup is growing.
– It started with us wanting to create a bit of momentum and fanfare for the younger target group in Västervik, which we think we are filling now, says Fredrik Ohlsson.
The tournament attracts many players who bring their loved ones. Then we have the youth tour ring, which is a bit underestimated, here also mother, father, siblings, grandmother and grandfather come along and cheer, says Fredrik Ohlsson.
– It does a lot for Västervik’s tourist life this week, he says.
The senior tournament usually stands out with well-known profiles and many of Sweden’s best players, as well as the fact that there are often celebrity teams on site. This year, among others, the profiles Kim Nilsson and Christian “fimpen” Nilsson were on site and played in Bröderna’s black shirts.
– We have played two games. We won the first and it was a bit tougher in the second but we cruised so we haven’t lost yet, it’s going well, says Kim Nilsson.
However, Christian Eklund was not as pleased.
– No, it’s tough paper for me, I’ve been benched for three games, I hope to get the chance in the third game, says Christian Eklund.
