Protests against the Netanyahu government in Israel, held every Saturday on Saturday, continued this week with wide participation on the same day. Tens of thousands of people joining anti-government groups repeated their protests, criticizing the indifference of political will to the war in Gaza and the return of prisoners, demanding the resignation of the “most right-wing government” in the country’s history and early elections.
Demonstrations demanding the resignation of the government and the return of captives were held in different parts of the country, in addition to Tel Aviv, Haifa and Biressebi (Bersheva), as well as the northern city of Caesarea, where Netanyahu’s residence is located, and West Jerusalem.
The center of the protests was Kaplan Street, closed by the police with iron barriers, in the capital Tel Aviv, where tens of thousands of Israelis gathered in the evening, and which became a symbol of the demonstrations against the judicial regulations of the Netanyahu government.
While thousands of protesters carrying Israeli flags carried banners, posters and banners against Prime Minister Netanyahu and the politicians in his government, activists made speeches criticizing the government on the platform set up on the street.

Relatives of Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip also criticized Netanyahu and the government he leads in front of the nearby Ministry of Defense.
Protesters beat drums and whistles, calling for the captives to return home as soon as possible, and carried banners saying “All home now!”, “Help!”, and shouted slogans accusing Netanyahu. Demonstrators shouted, “(Netanyahu) release Bibi (prisoners).”
Anti-government protesters walked from Kaplan Street in front of the ministry building and continued their protests with demonstrators demanding a prisoner exchange.
A group of thousands of demonstrators advanced through the city and blocked traffic on some streets.

More than a thousand demonstrators gathered around Netanyahu’s personal residence in the northern city of Caesarea, with Israeli flags, drums and whistles. Israelis, who want an agreement to be signed as soon as possible for the resignation of the government and the return of prisoners in the Gaza Strip, blocked roads and intersections in different parts of the country.
Hamas announced on April 13 that it had conveyed its response to the ceasefire offer with Israel to Egypt and Qatar.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office also made a statement that Hamas’s response was generally negative. Hamas Political Bureau Member and West Bank Officer Zahir Cebbarin stated that “they will definitely not hand over Israeli prisoners without a real agreement.”
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is accused by the Israeli and international community of not making a prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas for political reasons. Senior figures in Netanyahu’s government, including far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, argue that captives should not be Israel’s top priority and that destroying Hamas is more important.
Some relatives of prisoners state that in addition to the reactions they received from Netanyahu supporters on social media, they were also physically attacked during demonstrations where they called on the government.
According to Israeli authorities, there are more than 130 Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip, some alive and some dead. Hamas’s armed wing, Izzeddin Qassam Brigades, announced that the number of Israeli prisoners killed in Israel’s attacks on Gaza exceeded 70.
Relatives of Israeli prisoners in Gaza demanded a political agreement with Hamas and the release of their relatives and accused the government of being indifferent to their calls.
More than 34 thousand Palestinians, most of them women and children, lost their lives and approximately 78 thousand people were injured in Israel’s attacks on Gaza, which have been continuing uninterruptedly for about 7 months. According to human rights organizations, 2.3 million Palestinians in 360 square kilometers, who have experienced land occupation and heavy bombardment following Israel’s 16-year blockade, are experiencing one of the worst humanitarian disasters of the 21st century.
