Thousands fail at this boss – A hunter makes him ice cold solo

A hunter in World of Warcraft defeats one of the toughest raid bosses in the current content. Many guilds and raid groups have failed at this for a long time.

The last raid of World of Warcraft Dragonflight was Amirdrassil, Hope of the Dream. The raid was considered by the professional guilds, but also by many less ambitious groups, to be one of the hardest ever in WoW. This was mainly due to the last two bosses – Tindral Swiftwise and Fyrakk.

Tindral in particular was considered an insurmountable wall for many raids, and there was simply no way to progress past it. It is all the more astonishing that a hunter has now defeated the boss solo.

What kind of performance is that? Defeating Tindral Swiftly has not been easy for many raids – and that’s true on all difficulty levels. The boss is considered to be quite mechanically demanding. There are numerous effects that must be avoided, as well as several DPS checks and quick reactions that require the whole group to act quickly, for example to prevent burning seeds from sprouting.

A feat that would seem almost impossible for a single warrior. But the hunter Durendil managed it. He defeated Tindral Swiftly on normal difficulty, all by himself (and with the help of his animal companions).

How did Durendil do this? With a lot of time. Most of it was spent on planning. Tindral regularly deals a lot of damage, which makes the correct use of defensive cooldowns necessary. Beast Mastery Hunters have relatively little self-healing and also scale poorly with lifesteal, since most of the damage is caused by their companions.

Durdendil therefore had to perfectly coordinate his cooldowns with the boss’s abilities in order to survive the various mechanics – sometimes very narrowly.

What’s particularly strange is that Durendil is, as the video proves, a “clicker”. He selects skills individually with the mouse instead of binding them to hotkeys. This is actually frowned upon in the MMO community and is often the first tip given to players who want to improve: “Make hotkeys!” The fact that Durendil managed to do this despite being a clicker should give some people courage. Because someone has yet to emulate Durendil’s achievement.

In WoW, a number of records are currently being broken, especially because of WoW: Remix. There, some people manage to complete dungeons in record time. One particularly impressive feat: Scholomance in under 12 seconds.
