Frida Karlsson won a silver in the skiathlon.
But now she reveals a completely unknown drama before the championship – which she kept secret.
– I thought about going home.
Frida Karlsson won a WC silver in her first competition in this year’s championships in Planica, and was jubilant afterwards. Even though she didn’t have a chance to get close to the superb Ebba Andersson, she was in great spirits.
Revealing unknown drama
And it is not so strange, when she now reveals something that she has kept secret from the press in recent weeks. Karlsson has said that she feels in good shape before the WC, but to the Norwegian Nettavisen, Karlsson now reveals that the truth was different, and that she even thought about going home from the training camp before the championship.
– I considered it, she says.
Frida Karlsson admits that she had bigger problems than she had previously been open about.
– I was sick after the Tour de Ski and so I trained harder than what the body can actually withstand after that. I went a little too deep into the basement, she says.

Admit the lie
According to Frida Karlsson, it was important to her that her problems were kept hidden.
– All I tell myself is that “I’m good”. If I had told you in advance that it is not good, I would also start thinking that way. I have to tell myself that it will be fine, and that’s what I have done. It has brought me here, says Karlsson.
Frida Karlsson has been depressed and worried, but after the silver she is satisfied and happy, especially since she proved that she is good again.
– We know how it is with Ebba. It’s always high level on her. Personally, I feel that I needed this race. A little to be able to lower the shoulders and a little to step up the form again. It feels good, she says, and continues:
– Silver tastes good.
