Those who have a Samsung phone should quickly activate this

Samsung has just rolled out a major update to strengthen the security of phones. However, this option must be enabled in the settings.

The manufacturers of our phones are full of ideas for their updates. It is often said that these are important to carry out since they can not only add features to our devices, but also guarantee their daily security. Indeed, designers regularly provide their operating systems with solutions to hacking techniques that are constantly renewed, from year to year. This is why it is generally advisable to follow these updates, even if your smartphone is starting to show its age.

A few months ago, Samsung notably deployed a major update for its phones. Called One UI 6, the latter brings new features, including the addition of the firm’s in-house artificial intelligence, Galaxy AI. New visual improvements are also on the program in order to offer revised and improved animations.

But the real novelty of One UI 6 that interests us today is rather at the level of security. Samsung knows it: many of its users use Wi-Fi networks and public chargers when they are on the move. Unfortunately, these are very dangerous acts for the security of personal data. Indeed, hackers can sometimes infect public chargers so that they install malware and other malicious applications on your phone when you charge it.

The One UI 6 update therefore includes protection against this type of technique. Thanks to it, it is possible to prevent any installation of an application from a source other than the Google Play Store and the Samsung Galaxy Store. One UI 6 also includes a data transfer block when you use a public charger.

However, this option is not enabled by default, even after updating to One UI 6. To enable it, you need to go to the settings of your Samsung smartphone and to “Security and privacy”. There you will find the “App security” option, but also the “Auto blocker” that we mention in this article. Overall, this section of your phone has many options to improve the security of your device, and we highly recommend that you take a look.
