Is that a trend reversal? In recent years, the MCU movies are getting longer. The event film Avengers 4 set a record with a running time of 3 hours, which successors like Eternals (157 minutes) and No Way Home (148 minutes) approached. Even the crisp Shang-Chi trumped with extra length (132 minutes). With its mighty 177 minutes, The Batman confirmed the increasing excessiveness of superhero running times.

But then this year came the fast-paced Doctor Strange 2, which crossed the finish line at 126 minutes. He will now be caught up by the second MCU film of the year: Thor 4: Love and Thunder.
Thor 4 breaks MCU trend and becomes the shortest film in 4 years
How long is Thor 4? Love and Thunder is only 119 minutes long. At least that’s what Games Radar reports. The site in turn relies on figures from the American cinema operators AMC and Cineworld, which list this term on their websites. This would make Thor 4 the shortest MCU film since Ant-Man 2 in 2018 (118 minutes).
The length has not yet been officially confirmed, but there is no reason to doubt it either. Except for one maybe: this one 119 minutes come across as pretty tight compared to what director Taika Waititi intends to do with his film.
Lots to do: Why Thor 4’s short runtime would be very surprising
A short checklist with the most important Thor 4 homework:
Nothing against movies under 2 hours (nothing at all really), but that supposed running time stretches over its supposed content like skin over Chris Hemsworth’s abs.
When will Thor 4 hit theaters?
Thor 4 launches on July 6, 2022 in German cinemas. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is to follow on November 9th and conclude the MCU year in cinemas. If you currently need Marvel stuff: Ms. Marvel is currently running on Disney +.
