Another man has committed suicide after being hanged on the site Dumpen, writes Dagens ETC. The man is the eighth to take his own life after being confronted by the pedophile hunters, according to the newspaper.
Dumpen’s responsible publisher Sara Nilsson tells TV4 Nyheterna that it is tragic that the man took his own life, but that Dumpen cannot take responsibility for how the grown men act after being confronted.
– The problem is not unique to Dumpen, but all perpetrators who are exposed run an increased risk of killing themselves. Unfortunately, that’s how it looks. It is difficult to ask for help, it is a stigmatized problem. At the same time, we must not forget that there are more victims than perpetrators who take their own lives, says Dumpen’s responsible publisher Sara Nilsson to TV4 Nyheterna.
Wanted to commit assault on 10-year-old girl
For a few weeks, the man had been chatting with Dumpen’s employee who pretended to be a woman. The man had talked about having sex with the woman’s ten-year-old daughter and arranged a meeting with the woman to jointly commit abuse on her child.
The woman and the daughter do not exist and the man was instead confronted by Patrik Sjöberg and Sara Nilsson, who are behind the Dumpen site. The man then committed suicide after being informed that he would be hanged on the pedophile hunting site.
“Reckless operation”
Lawyer Thomas Bodström is critical of how Dumpen works and tells TV4 Nyheterna that men who have been confronted by Dumpen have contacted him. According to Bodström, the men must have felt blackmailed when they state that they have been offered to buy themselves freedom from being hanged if they buy a pedophile cure treatment from a company that Dumpen cooperates with, something that ETC and Aftonbladet previously reported.
– It is a ruthless operation that I think is very good that it has now come to light, what they are really doing and that they are not good idealists, says Thomas Bodström to TV4 Nyheterna.
Denies the allegations
Sara Nilsson tells TV4 Nyheterna that the information that the men can buy themselves free is not true. She says that the only reason they can refrain from hanging someone out is if the person in question has an intellectual disability.
– All you have to do is report it to the police if you are being blackmailed in any way. But from us you have not been blackmailed at all, says Sara Nilsson.
Sara Nilsson defends Dumpen’s work and says that the purpose is to protect children from being exposed to abuse.
– It is incredibly tragic when it goes so far that a person takes their own life. But the alternative is to let them continue until they commit a crime, until they create a victim of children, she says.
