THK a Japanese company surprised with its EV Concept with

Japanese machinery company THK, known for pioneering the rolling contact linear motion method in the 1970s, has made a unique entry into the world of electric cars by introducing an unexpected electric vehicle concept with cutting-edge features such as in-wheel motors, wireless charging and electric service brakes.

The abbreviation of the vehicle called LSR-05 means “Luxury, Sport and Revolution” and expresses its innovative features. “05” represents the company’s 50th anniversary and the fifth generation vehicle produced by Nippon company.

Described as a four-seat crossover coupe with a dynamic and elegant exterior, this EV was designed by SN Design Platform and measures 4,995 millimeters in length, 1,965 mm in width and 1,530 mm in height. In terms of length and width Tesla Model X It shares similar dimensions with, but is six inches shorter than the American-made electric SUV.

The LSR-05 features video cameras instead of traditional side mirrors and has rear-hinged doors for rear passengers. Its interior has been meticulously designed, featuring a full-width digital instrument cluster with what appears to be screens for the side mirrors, instrument cluster and infotainment system, and a pair of screens for the front passenger.

Additionally, THK introduced the hidden seat slide system, which uses proprietary linear motion guides on the seat surface and where the seat base connects to the floor. This innovative design provides a compact configuration.

The vehicle is powered by two 800-volt, 93-kilowatt variable magnetic flux in-wheel motors developed by THK at the rear and a 220 kW motor at the front. It also has four-wheel steering, active level control suspension with adjustable ride height, and an electric braking system that can control all four brakes independently.
