They are praised for their “commitment to bring the culture and reading to their members with book boxes” and for “motivating and encouraging their members to read books and to listen to audiobooks for further education and for the joy it brings”.
The department has a workplace library that is available to around 3,600 members where they can freely borrow a book.
The workplace library of the year prize has been awarded since 2014. Among previous award winners are Ellos in Borås, the elderly care facility in Nässjö and the prison in Örebro.
The winner receives SEK 10,000 to shop for at their library and an author visit worth SEK 10,000.
