She plays Maggan, who is the mother of the girls Ristin and Áila in the Christmas calendar called “Snödrömmar”.
– This year there will be no snow, and they operate a large ski resort, so it is a big problem to try to solve, says Anna Åsdell.
Olle Sarri plays Sören, who is a big city resident who comes to the hotel.
– He is looking for his roots and is a very naive and affectionate type, he says.
“Great to recognize yourself”
For the first time, the Christmas calendar takes place in a Sami family. Anna Åsdell believes that it will be appreciated by Sami children who see it.
– I think it’s great fun to recognize yourself and see your reality and see it on the Christmas calendar, which is such a big deal.
She describes it as a modern Sami family where Sami people will immediately recognize themselves.
– Then I can’t say whether others will see the Sami right away or gradually, she says.
It was difficult to avoid snow
“Snow dreams” have been recorded since last autumn in various locations in northern Sweden, and one of the biggest problems has been avoiding snow in the pictures.
Olle Sarri is satisfied with how they managed to combine adventure, excitement and humor, something that is not always so easy.
The Christmas calendar is a program with a large and sometimes demanding audience. But neither Olle Sarri nor Anna Åsdell have been too concerned about the reactions.
– I think there will be a lot of reaction at home about what it’s really about. I think there will be a lot of talk, says Sarri cryptically.
