Black week is here – the week that in recent years has become the time of the year when the biggest sales occur.
The police are now urging consumers to pay extra attention to good offers during the sale. Lotta Mauritzson, crime prevention officer at the police’s National Fraud Centre, gives her best tips to avoid being scammed.
– There are two big dangers, either that you trade on fake pages, which may look like a legitimate page even though you have set up a fake one that you may be led to via a Google page, she says.
– Another thing that we see is these package text messages that are sent out to large numbers of people, in the hope that someone will be waiting for a package, who is a little too stressed and who misses this package a little too much, continues she.
