On Sunday, the prosecutor requested that the four arrested in the Security Police operation on Thursday in Tyresö outside Stockholm be remanded in custody. Two of them are brothers and are requested to be detained on probable cause, the higher degree of suspicion, for preparation for a terrorist crime, alternatively for participation in a terrorist organization, a serious crime, and for a serious weapons crime.
Seems to have become increasingly devout
People around the brothers have described to SVT Nyheter how they seem to have become increasingly religious recently.
According to information, plainclothes police officers have previously visited the brothers’ residence and also asked neighbors if they smelled strange smells or heard any sounds from the brothers’ apartment.
Convicted of crimes before
The older brother has previously been convicted of several cases of drug offences, both minor and of a normal degree, as well as breaking the knife law on one occasion.
In a personal investigation from the Correctional Service, it is stated that he was prosecuted for the first time at the age of 18 and that “the probation service states that a young age at the onset of crime is a risk factor for recidivism”.
It also says that he appeared in an investigation at the children and youth unit due to “suspicion of abuse against a teacher”.
The younger brother has been convicted of minor drug offenses on one occasion.
Must have visited the association premises regularly
In connection with the crackdown in Tyresö, extensive seizures were made in a warehouse, among other things, weapons are said to have been taken out.
The two others who were arrested during the operation are requested to be detained on probable cause, suspected only of serious weapons offences. SVT Nyheter has previously told about those people here. Säpo has previously said that there are connections to IS Somalia.
According to information given to SVT Nyheter, the four suspects have hung out in the same circles and regularly visited the Islamic association premises that the police raided.
