When it comes to the impending end of the cop hit Blue Bloods – Crime Scene New York, even the biggest fans find it harder to let go than lead actor Tom Selleck. In the past he has repeatedly expressed himself unhappy and even angry about the cancellation of the series.
While the final Blue Bloods episodes will begin broadcasting in the USA in a few days, the star now said again at the end – and shot at the transmitter.
Tom Selleck expresses frustration with broadcaster over Blue Bloods cancellation
According to Deadline, the actor said in the TV Insider interview that he was pretty frustrated. Again he cited the high ratings as the reason for the series still such a large audience and was far too popular to be canceled. For Selleck, the personal motivation could be financial.
In Selleck’s view, the network took Blue Bloods’ popularity for granted from the start because ratings were high early on. His frustration also comes to the fore in the interview, which becomes clear to Selleck after filming ends:
I’m not going to turn into a bitter old guywho says, “Get off my lawn!” I don’t believe in holding grudges, but if you told the network, ‘Here’s a show you could schedule in the worst time slot and it would be guaranteed to triumph on Friday nights for the next 15 years,’ it would be hard to believe.
In the conversation, Selleck also seems sad and you notice how difficult it is for him to separate from Blue Bloods:
It will take a long time to cope with all of this. I remember after the weekend [der Dreharbeiten zur letzten Folge] said, ‘I have to go to bed early tonight because I have to do my dialogue for Monday.’ Well, there was no Monday. It will just take a while. When does the Blue Bloods series finale start in Germany?
