Iivo Niskanen ended his letter to Athlete of the Year Lauri Markkanen with a tough request. Markkanen answered the ski star in a funny way.

Urheilu was there to witness when the Athlete of the Year Lauri Markkanen opened Iivo Niskanen a letter written at his home in Salt Lake City.
At the sports gala, a tradition was started two years ago, in which the previous athlete of the year wrote a letter to the next. Iivo Niskanen got a swimmer himself last year From Matti Mattsson the letter.
Now the skiing star’s letter ended up in the hands of basketball star Markkanen.
According to Markkanen, Iivo Niskanen’s letter contained the following message.
“Hey! How are you? Good for me. I haven’t written letters in twenty years. Now I thought so. By the way, congratulations on the Sportsman of the Year selection. Best regards, Iivo Niskanen.”
Markkanen also read an afterword to ‘s TV camera.
“P.S. I hope you will write to me again soon in this place.”
Basketball star Markkanen responded just as hard, acknowledging the skiing star’s request.
– I would have liked to have been able to write for myself. We’ll see how things progress, Markkanen continued.
Niskanen said on Thursday at the Sports Gala that starting new traditions feels challenging.
– It is easier to receive a letter than to write one. Especially when you don’t know who to write to, Niskanen described his task.
