They point out five reasons why Trump and Vance exploded during the meeting.

On Friday, Trump and Zeleskyj would sign the agreement that gives the United States the right to Ukrainian earth metals and other natural resources.
But everything collapsed. The nearly eleven -minute exchange of words was quickly wired out to a shocked world and after 144 minutes, Zeleskmyj was kicked out prematurely from the White House.
Several international experts estimated that the attack from Trump and his vice president JD Vance was planned. It was denied on Saturday by sources in the White House, writes the New York Times. The magazine refers to three reporters with insight into what happened and they say that neither Trump nor Vance had decided on the sabotage the mineral agreement in advance.

Both openly accused Zelenskyj for not being grateful enough. According to the New York Times sources, Trump wanted to hear Ukraine’s president say thank you for trying to end the war. The newspaper also notes that both France’s Emmanuel Macron and Britain’s Keir Starmer on their visits earlier this week were better prepared for Trump’s acknowledged need to get overwhelmed with flattery. According to The Guardian Trump’s advisers believe that they have been clear in advance against the Ukrainians that security guarantees would only be negotiated later – that the meeting on Friday would only be only about the financial agreement. The newspaper’s sources state that the Americans were cursed when Zelenskyj still raised the issue for the journalists.
