The new Netflix series Adolescence has been at the top of the Netflix charts for days. In addition to the dark story around the 13-year-old Jamie (Owen Cooper), who is said to have murdered a classmate, production is also focused on the effects for the boy’s family.

At the end of the four episodes, each filmed in one setting without cuts, adolescence sparks one extremely touching conclusion. The director revealed that the final was so emotionally successful with the help of a trick.

In the last episode of the series, Jamie’s father Eddie (Stephen Graham) celebrates her birthday. In a later scene in which he sits in the car with his wife (Christine Tremarco) and his daughter (Amélie Pease), he receives a call from his detained son.
