Arcimoto, a manufacturer specializing in three-wheel electric vehicles based in Oregon (United States), has just unveiled a concept of electric tricycle recliner with promising features. the Mean Lean Machine is similar in its design to a tricycle for basic adults, capable of carrying one to two passengers.
But it hides a most interesting configuration with three-wheel drive, and a system ofjoint parallel to the front axle which allows you to take turns while leaning like on a two-wheeler. There is also an amazing device of transmission without chain between the crankset and the wheels which rests on an electromechanical connection. This system can be disengaged, in order to be able to use the tricycle in a stationary way like an exercise bike while recharging its battery.
Arcimoto does not give details on engine performance, but announces that he is aiming for a autonomy more than 320 km “with auxiliary batteries”. If the project proceeds, the commercialization of the Mean Lean Machine is expected in the fourth quarter of 2022. The final price has not yet been disclosed but interested customers can make a reservation with a refundable deposit of 100 dollars.
