“Playing in the honors class is currently not an option for us as a student team. We are very proud that we are eligible for this, but the continuation is unfeasible. The way in which honors league teams are currently professionalizing (buying players, investing in youth, all bourgeois gadgets for which we have no money), makes it virtually impossible for a student team to play fun matches,” writes the Utrecht rugby association.
