Charlize Theron as Aeon Flux

Aeon Flux was a disaster from the start

At the beginning of the 00s, film actors rarely got lost in series. And of all people newly crowned Oscar winner Charlize Theron signed on for the sitcom Arrested Development. In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, she explains that she knew from the beginning that “Aeon Flux would be a complete failure” and therefore signed on to the hit series. So an attempt to save her career and improve her image.

Theron also had that in the psychodrama Monster very depressing role the serial killer Aileen Wuornos and now wanted to play stronger and lighter characters. Aeon Flux was an obvious choice, but it became clear during filming that they were heading for a total failure. And Theron had neither the know-how nor the influence to do that to paralyze the projectuntil the scripts were consistent.

Aeon Flux: There will be a reboot

Although her first action role was a flop, she later appeared again as Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road, among others demonstrate their talent and inspire fans and critics. Aeon Flux itself should also have the chance to be rehabilitated after almost 20 years, as a reboot is in the works.
