Ransomware, or ransomwareare more and more numerous and attack both individual computers and internal networks such as those hospitals. However, cybersecurity researchers from MalwareHunterTeam discovered ransomware quite special, which asks victims to subscribe to a channel Youtube rather thansilver. The virus displays a typo-laden English message and identifies itself as Black Eye ransomware. The authors, who call themselves Ghost Cyber Team from Indonesia, added a link to their YouTube channel named ERROR 404.

Malware already detected by antivirus
The website Motherboard was able to confirm that this malware is real, but it seems pretty basic. The program only attacks a single computer, and does not attempt to spread to other devices. The message asks the victim to subscribe to the channel and comment on most videos, and the perpetrator will send him the key to access his files.
However, this new malware should not pose a great threat. The majority of the site’s antivirus VirusTotal (50 out of 66) detect ransomware. Additionally, the band’s YouTube channel seems a priori belong to teenagers. There are only 66 subscribers and most videos have no comments…
