Then you can test this solution: candle wax as a protective barrier. The trick is to use a white classic wax candle (without coloring or perfume preferably) to waterproof the joints. Remember to remove the bread from the candle, the application will be easier and more uniform. To start, simply rub a white candle over the entire length of the seals by pressing slightly. The wax will deposit and form an invisible protective layer which prevents water from infiltrating and thus limits the proliferation of mold. Smooth with a dry cloth to standardize the wax layer and avoid residues.

How often to renew the application? For optimal efficiency, it is advisable to renew the application of the wax every 2 to 3 months, or as soon as you notice that the water no longer pearls on the joints. Thanks to this very simple tip, your joints stay clean longer, and you avoid the intensive cleaning chore. Try, you will be surprised by the result!

Another solution to clean the joints before applying the wax is to prepare a mixture with three tablespoons of bicarbonate with a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide. Apply the preparation to the joints, rub and let dry. Once the seals are dry, you can take the wax application stage.
