The trends that influence the fashion of first names can be grouped around several themes. This is particularly the case for short first names with 1 to 2 syllables, or 4 to 6 letters (Léo, Tiago, Jules); but also, biblical first names (Aaron, Simon, Isaac), retro first names (Gabin, Gustave, Auguste), first names from different mythologies (Aidan, Ulysses, Jao), Celtic and Irish first names (Evan, Nolan and Kerian ) as well as medieval first names (Ghislain, Léon, Tristan).

The French craze for regional first names is also unprecedented. This spread sounds previously specific to Brittany, the Basque Country or Occitania.
