With quality equipment and an attractive price, this new model should seduce many French people.
There are more awaited cars outings than others. That of the latest of the Dacia galaxy is undoubtedly part. It must be said that the subsidiary brand of the Renault group has long conquered many French people with its affordable models. Not that the French moreover, the Romanian manufacturer can indeed pride itself on making the car which sold the most in Europe last year. 270,000 DACIA SANDERO NEURES passed on the old continent in 2024, it is better than the Renault Clio and that the timeless Golf de Volkswagen.
The imminent arrival on our roads – normally from June – a brand new model of the brand is therefore particularly scrutinized. Fashion obliges, Dacia has been preparing a new SUV for several years, which will come to be alongside the popular Duster, whose third generation was born last year, and jogger. Presented in Paris at the last Auto World Cup, the Bigster will come and place itself at the top of the Dacia range. As its name suggests, it will be the largest of the three SUVs. 4m57 long, 23 centimeters more than the Duster, the Bigster wants to be more spacious, even if he will not be able to accommodate 7 passengers like the jogger.

Available in micro-hybrid petrol, LPG, with the contribution of a small electric battery of 48 volts, and in Full Hybrid, animated by a 1.8-liter engine and a power of 155 horsepower, the Bigster embodies the level of Dacia. 10-inch touch screen, digital dashboard, reversing camera, LED light signature, manual air conditioning, 17-inch standard alloy rims from the first level of finish (Essential), the time when the Romanian firm produced the “low-cost” vehicle chain is definitely over. And with the possibility of having a panoramic sunroof, a motorized tailgate or the adaptive cruise control on the highest finishes – Extreme and Journey -, the Bigster has nothing to envy the competition.
It would even be the opposite, because level Dacia rates remains far below market prices. Of course, the brand was matched, the Bigster is also the Romanian manufacturer’s first vehicle to break the symbolic bar of the 30,000 euros (up to 31,700 euros on the high finishes of the Hybrid 155). The call price of the new SUV is just under 25,000 euros (24,990 euros with the petrol/micro-hybrid LPG engine).
Even if they start with different and more powerful engines, the entry levels of French competitors in the Bigster, whether the Austral, the 3008 or the C5 Aircross, cost much more. Count 36,600 euros for the Renault, 37,900 for the Citroën and 38,990 for the Peugeot. A price difference that customers will not fail to notice.
