The next iOS update will have a very handy feature to save your eyes and avoid developing myopia in users.
Is Apple trying to save the eyes of its users? The latest information about the next IOS update has several features dedicated to health. Among the latter, there is an option rarely seen in a smartphone and called “screen distance”. We explain how this addition will work, which may well relieve your eyes greatly.
Apple will warn you when your eyes are too close to the screen
The next iOS 17 update should arrive in September on all recent iPhones. Among the features added to your device, you should find the “screen distance” option. This new option, completely free, will be activated in the settings of your iPhone and more precisely in the “screen time” section.
Once the option is activated, your iPhone will be alerted if ever your eyes are too close to your screen. The smartphone uses Face ID’s TrueDepth technology to regularly analyze the presence of your eyes and their position in front of your iPhone screen. If these are marked as too close, you will then receive an alert!
We can imagine that this feature will especially be very practical for the youngest users who are used to spending many hours in front of their iPhone.
