The stars’ summer house is one of the most successful reality shows on German TV. In the RTL format, Z-Promi pairs are braided into a farmhouse in order to survive for two weeks. What sounds cruel proved as a guarantee of success for dream rates – in every season there were scandals that made headlines.
Now RTL ventured a new step with the summer house. What happens if you send “normal” people into the extreme situation instead of celebrities without TV experience? Unfortunately, the experiment backfired. You can find out why the fans are now really annoyed here.
RTL made a big mistake with the normalos in the summer house
When the Normalos summer house was announced, fans were totally curious: How do couples deal without media experience to be driven to the stress limit in front of Germany? Many had hoped that the normalos do without the typical reality drama and instead show real, unfiltered feelings. What RTL delivers instead annoys the fans: The normalos turn out to be wannabe stars who have long since had all the tricks of the reality elite on itto generate as much broadcast time as possible.
For this reason, couples like Vanessa and Richard are particularly trouble. It becomes constantly noticeable that Vanessa conjures up conflicts at all costs and then sob melodramatically into the camera. The fans’ allegation: The normalos want to become famous and therefore behave unautentically. So they are as fake as all the reality stars we see every day on trash TV. A fan lets his disappointment on Instagram run free:
Am I actually the only one who is really disappointed that the (almost) all fame and the reality stars of tomorrow want to be? I was looking forward to the normalos and that it is not always about broadcast time. […] It’s a shame that either me or the participants misunderstood something.
Many fans had hoped to see more action instead of drama. Instead, the show is reminiscent of a low-budget version of the original. The normal-cast has an unappealing effect because it is only on the hunt for the next scandal:
Some fans also defend the cast. After all, nobody would go to the show who would not want to be famous: “Nobody wants to see Langweiler. We only look because the scraps fly there.” It remains to be seen whether RTL will produce a second season after these reviews.
