Thriller series Hijack with Idris Elba

The main character, Sam, is not a police officer, but he is a negotiator. However, Idris Elba’s character usually mediates in the business world to negotiate the best possible deal. But his talent also benefits him as a hostage when he tries – sometimes with manipulative sensitivity, sometimes with extreme means – to steer the kidnappers away from a catastrophe. Even if he puts himself in danger and gets obstacles thrown in his way by other passengers along the way. The sustained tension that Hijack as a series builds in such a small space is enormous.

While Idris Elba has now turned his back on the James Bond candidacy, Hijack makes us mourn this decision once again. But the rest of the ensemble also helps Thriller series reaches its qualitative heights. It’s almost a shame that the kidnapping has to come to a clear end after 7 episodes.
