A new DIY brand is arriving in France with 40 stores at the end of the first quarter of 2025.

While some DIY brands are experiencing difficult times and are closing stores or going into liquidation, others are creating new brands. This is the case of this major DIY brand which is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year. For the occasion, it will launch a brand new concept of local stores in March with the aim of becoming the leading network of local DIY stores in France.

This French brand specializes in the DIY, gardening and home improvement sector. Founded in 1980, it brings together a network of local stores, mainly in the form of a cooperative, located mainly in France, but also internationally. To date, it already has 1,091 stores, including 78 international stores in 11 countries. The stores are located in both cities and rural areas in France, allowing easy access to products. His slogan? “Do it yourself, but not alone”

Did you guess? This brand is Mr.Bricolage, “known to 82% of French people and recognized by its customers for the relevance of its local offering”, rejoices its Managing Director Christophe Mistou. In stores, we find a wide range of products to meet the needs of DIY, gardening, and domestic work, whether tools, construction materials, or decoration. There are both recognized brands and exclusive products from the Mr.Bricolage brand.

While the group today has 341 Mr.Bricolage stores in France, 101 Les Briconautes stores, and 571 affiliated stores under independent brands, it has just announced on the occasion of its 45th anniversary the creation of a new brand: “Mr.Bricolage Relais”, with 40 new stores expected by the end of the first quarter of 2025.

The group intends to review its presence in the region. He makes no secret of it, he wants to get closer to his customers with the ambition of “becoming the first local DIY network in France.” This new brand allows Mr.Bricolage to “deploy its know-how locally to as many French people as possible,” explains the Managing Director, and to share its name with independent brands in the network.

From March, 40 “Mr.Bricolage Relais” stores will open across France. The first stores to switch to this new name will all be existing stores, either Les Briconautes stores or affiliated hardware stores. They will thus take advantage of the brand’s notoriety to attract more customers.
