LAHTI. At the media conference of the Finnish national skiing team held on Thursday, the center of attention was Krista Pärmäkoski ten-week-old Edvin dog.
Skiers from other countries who passed by stopped to admire and stare at the star athlete’s eyes. Rappers also included Norwegian superstars, Kristine Stavås Skistad mixed Lotta Udnes Weng.
Skistad has been convincing in World Cup sprints this season. Lotta Udnes Weng, on the other hand, is the competition winner from last year.
– He (Edvin) tore Weng’s chip bag and the chips spread on the floor. However, Weng was not sorry, Pärmäkoski laughs.
Edvin is with Pärmäkoski now for the second race weekend in a row. Attention has come from skiing people in the darkest of clouds.
– Now who wouldn’t come to say hello to such a cutie? It’s nice that Edvin is making contacts and getting used to people. At the same time, you also get used to hotel rooms and sounds.
Pärmäkoski on the floor
Edvin was already with Pärmäkoski in last weekend’s Kuopio Suomen Cup. Pärmäkoski said at the time that Edvin kept awake at night by tossing here and there.
The same trend has continued in Lahti as well.
– Yesterday I went to sleep on the floor at 5:30. Fortunately, I like a firm mattress. When you put another blanket under Edvin’s sleeping pad, it’s very comfortable to sleep on.
You might think that caring and worrying about a newcomer would affect concentration.
– At least there’s nothing to worry about unnecessarily, Pärmäkoski replies.
Pärmäkoski has arranged things so that he can prepare for the Games normally.
– There is a nurse here during the games to see that all meals and runs are taken care of. However, Edvin can’t be alone very much yet.
On the opening day of the Salpausselkä Games on Friday, Krista Pärmäkoski will ski in the pair sprint in the Finnish women’s first team Johanna Matintalo with. They form the second team Anne Kyllönen and Jasmi Joensuu.
Finland’s men’s first teams form Iivo Niskanen and Lauri Vuorinenof the other team Cross mat Hakola and Ville Ahonen.
