Specialist in accessories for cyclists, the American Livall presents an astonishing module allowing you to transform your classic bike into an electric model, capable of reaching 35 km/h. It installs and removes in just seconds.
Rather than investing several thousand euros in an electric bike, it is sometimes better to opt for an adaptive solution. More and more initiatives in this direction are emerging, signed Elemoove or clip.bike. An Indian electric conversion kit, on the other hand, is particularly weatherproof.
The originality of Livall’s PikaBoost, which weighs less than 3 kg and is easily transported without a backpack, is that it adapts to all bikes and so you can use it whatever your (new) mount.
It attaches on one side under the saddle and on the other directly on the rear wheel of the bike. It offers different riding modes, including one that is simply based on the user’s pedaling pace and relieves them to maintain the same speed regardless of their effort. The others come either to boost rather slow rhythms (children or the elderly for example) or to maximize the performance of more seasoned cyclists, within the limit of 35 km/h. In all cases, it acts directly on the rotational speed of the rear wheel and therefore the speed of the bicycle. Its principle is to convert the kinetic energy emitted by the moving wheel to power the battery. Finally, a Bluetooth connection allows you to know the remaining battery level at any time.
This project is the subject of a launch campaign via Kickstarter crowdfunding site. The PikaBoost is offered there for a few more days from 309 dollars (instead of 599 dollars at its next official launch).
