If you’ve ever had the misfortune of stepping on one of these pieces, you know the pain. But did you know that one of them was particularly formidable? An experiment revealed which one caused the worst suffering and we hope you never have to do it.
A true cultural phenomenon that spans generations, LEGO® has the ability to transform a simple misstep into a test of survival. Youtuber Nate Scovill, known for his unusual experiments, wanted to know more about this well-known phenomenon. However, rather than putting himself in danger, he developed a scientific analysis to determine which LEGO® was considered cruelest to our feet. Using a mechanical arm and an artificial ballistic gel foot, he replicated the pressure of a human foot to test different parts. A cardboard surface was used to observe the damage caused by each part, while the ballistic gel foot reproduced the effects on artificial skin. And the results are surprising.
Thanks to this device, certain classic bricks have been found to be painful, especially those with sharp edges or sharp points. Among them: a wizard’s hat proved particularly taxing, its pointy top inflicting excruciating pain. But it wasn’t the worst. Another piece, older and equipped with metal, broke all records. We’re talking about a vintage LEGO® wheel with a metal axle.
