This household appliance brand sees one of its activities disappear. Several stores will therefore have to close departments in a list of French cities…
Auchan had to close stores, Lidl had to end its travel activity and the situation seems very difficult for many other major brands in France. The future of many stores is very uncertain. A famous household appliance brand has just announced that it will have to give up part of its activity. Although it has existed for a long time and was appreciated by customers, it has experienced a decline in recent years. The departments concerned will therefore be gradually closed.
“Given the evolution of the market, this activity is no longer finding the success it was able to achieve in a sector which is losing momentum”, explained the brand to The Voice of the North. The affected employees, who number 57, will be reassigned to the company “according to everyone’s wishes”, assures the company.
The brand concerned is Boulanger, specializing in household appliances. It will no longer be possible to go through it to do your cooking. “Boulanger has decided to put an end to its equipped kitchen activity, the closure of the departments concerned and the cessation of the services inherent to this activity will take place gradually in the months/weeks to come,” indicated the brand.
For over 45 years, Boulanger has been designing custom fitted kitchens. Customers are then welcomed into the heart of one of the country’s 12 showrooms to consider the layout of this space with specialists. 12 stores in France offer these showrooms, which will therefore soon close. These are those of Dunkirk – Grande-Synthe, Villeneuve D’Ascq, Englos, Caen, Domus – Rosny-sous-Bois, Melun, Saint-Geneviève-des-Bois, Anglet, Nimes, Avignon, Toulon and Puget- Sur-Argens.
Boulanger seems to be taking a new turn since the arrival a little over a year ago of Emilie Soleri as director. Today 221 stores are open in France. Boulanger, which was bought by the Mulliez group (Auchan, Decathlon, Leroy Merlin, etc.), aims to increase to 250 by 2027, with around ten openings per year. “Boulanger’s ambitions are to remain a leader in the market, in particular thanks to services and positioning on premium products and perhaps internationally tomorrow,” Emilie Soleri recently assured the Figaro.
