The Eid El-Fitr festival is an important moment for Muslims who put an end to Ramadan. But this year, there is a particularity on the prayer schedule.
Eid El-Fitr, which marks the end of the sacred month of Ramadan, is one of the most important festivals on the Muslim calendar. Celebrated by billions of believers around the world, this day has a particular meaning and takes place according to well -established rituals and traditions. Eid is above all a moment of joy and sharing: the day begins early in the morning with a special prayer, which is generally held in mosques or open spaces. This prayer of Eid, which brings together thousands of faithful, is a highlight for believers.
But this year, beware, the schedule of this prayer is surprising! Because according to the CFCM, the date of Eid El-Fitr is set for this Sunday, March 30, that is to say the day of the time change! So beware of the confusion, because the new legal hour must lead all Muslims to widen the meningu … does prayer take place earlier or later?
It must be understood that Sunday, March 30, at 2:00 am precisely, it will actually be 3:00. Since the highlights of Eid Day are organized with sunlight, the SUTH (or Fajr) schedule, the prayer of dawn which must be accomplished before daybreak, will not intervene around 5:00, but around 6:00 am! And the Shuruq, that is to say sunrise, will intervene at around 6:30 am, but around 7:30 am. All the prayers of this day will take place an hour later – on the new legal hour!
Small subtlety, we can also see things a little differently if we keep as a referent day light, as indicated by the specialized media Al Kanz: “We are doing all an hour earlier, prayers do not move”. Note also: if the date of the Eid is good on Sunday for the CFCM and the CTMF, the Grande Mosque de Paris must still confirm this date during the night of doubt, Saturday evening.
Before Eid Prayer, believing Muslims are required to pay the Zakat al-Fitr, a compulsory alms intended for the most deprived. This charity allows everyone, even to the poorest, to participate in the festivities of Eid. The Zakat al-Fitr can take the form of food or money and is distributed before Eid prayer. Eid El-Fitr is also an opportunity to wear new clothes. Children often receive new clothes, toys and other gifts. Adults exchange presents and wishes.
Families move to visit their parents, friends and neighbors. These visits are an opportunity to share moments of joy and conviviality. This day is an opportunity to take stock of this month of Ramadan, to ask for forgiveness for the mistakes committed and to take good resolutions for the future.
