“This is wonderful” Blizzard has secret changes in Vessel of Hatred, players can find them now

Diablo 4 will soon have its first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, and Season 6. You could already test the changes on the PTR and read about them in the patch notes. However, Blizzard did not list some of the new features, including major improvements to the quality of play.

What changes with Vessel of Hatred?

  • In Vessel of Hatred you can play a new story section in the Nahantu region and get a new class, the Spiritborn. Here you can find all the information about Vessel of Hatred.
  • At the same time, on October 8th, Season 6 starts and brings several changes to the gameplay, including: rune words, a revised level and paragon system and new difficulty levels.
  • From September 4th to September 11th, Blizzard opened the public test realm (PTR) to test the changes. There, players and experts found a lot of content that had not been announced.
  • Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred shows the new features and the new region Nahantu in the video

These are the secret changes: Most and most of the biggest innovations are already in the official patch notes for Patch 2.0, which brings Season 6 and the features of Vessel of Hatred into the game.

However, there were further changes on the PTR:

  • There are new cosmetic customizations for many characters and you can access the wardrobe from anywhere via your character sheet.
  • Fame levels 4 and 5 have been swapped so you can earn Paragon Points faster – ideal for new players in Vessel of Hatred.
  • The gambler’s obolus costs have been changed; weapons, jewelry, headpieces and gloves cost more, other armor and keys cost less.
  • The probability of getting unique items from the gambler is apparently higher.
  • At the alchemist you can now convert gemstone fragments into fragments of other colors.
  • Completion now only requires Obducite. Ingolith and Niedereisen are removed.
  • The duration of buffs is now displayed on mouseover.
  • Whispers can now grant large gem and gold chests.
  • There have been major changes, especially with the super bosses. Their loot and strength are now determined by the new difficulty levels and there are only the tortured versions. Summons are also easier: you need less material and Stygian stones have been completely removed.

Additionally, bosses now count toward the Tree of Whispers bounties, giving you more loot without any extra effort. There are also small changes like new mounts and reworked crates and chests.

Our colleagues at wowhead have compiled all the changes in detail. However, there is a small error here: you cannot wear crafted mythics at level 1, which Community Manager Adam Fletcher has already corrected. Remember that these are PTR changes and may be changed before release.

    Great for leveling alts

With a few exceptions, the changes have been well received by players so far. The changes to completion in particular have been met with praise. It is “wonderful” that you no longer have to go through the annoying intermediate step via the alchemist (via Reddit).

The changes to the bosses are also a lot of fun. Easier summons and, above all, less grinding for Stygian Stones as well as the possibility of killing bosses as whispers are “the best changes ever.” Getting more loot is something everyone is happy about anyway.

What is not well received, however, is the removal of the campfire from the character screen. For many players, this is simply part of the atmosphere and is reminiscent of the days of Diablo 2.

In any case, the changes in Season 6 are being viewed rather critically at the moment. In the test, it was generally much harder to get good loot and the completion system punishes players with randomness. Blizzard will probably work on this and take the feedback from the PTR into account: the test for the first expansion is over, but many players are dissatisfied with what they have already seen.
