This is where housing prices rise the most A lot

It’s no secret that it costs a fortune to buy a home. Now new figures show that prices were raised further in April 2024, but where did the biggest increase actually take place?

Sweden’s Real Estate Statistics has the answer.

“Some kind of ice break”

Hans Flinkbusiness development manager at Svensk Mäklarstatistik, believes that prices for housing right now are similar to 2019’s level, which can be regarded as some kind of normal year before the pandemic.

– It’s probably some kind of thawing, at least when it comes to the number of sales, he tells Swedens radio.

New figures from Swedish Real Estate Statistics show that condominium prices in the country rose by 1.5 percent in April compared to the previous month, while house prices increased by 0.9 percent.

Where do prices rise the most?

It is primarily the condominiums in Gothenburg and Stockholm that have increased in price. It will be the most expensive in central Gothenburg, where condominium prices rose by 2 percent during April.

– In three months, they have increased by 4 percent in Stockholm’s inner city and that is remarkable. This means SEK 4,000 more per square meter. And that is a lot of money, says Hans Flink to TT.

But what stands out the most is that the number of sales increased significantly.

In April, 24 percent more homes were sold compared to the same month last year, but then the number of sales was extra low.
