Today there are nine days left until Christmas Eve and also the first day that data has been received by the meteorologists to be able to make a forecast for the holiday.
According to the forecast, milder air, rain and wind will move in over the country in the next few days. The snow cover that is found over Götaland and large parts of Svealand can therefore be severely eroded.
– Then it looks like during the next week there will be slightly colder air again sweeping down over the country, says meteorologist Linda Eriksson.
This is what the weather will be like on Christmas Eve where you live
According to the meteorologist, as the forecast looks for Christmas Eve now, it will be below zero in almost the entire country.
– It looks like it will be double-digit minus degrees in the northern parts of the country, between one and five minus degrees in the middle parts of the country and at the very bottom of the south there may be an occasional plus degree.
Hope lives on for a white Christmas
As the forecast now shows, it may also be a white Christmas in some parts of the country.
– If you were to make a guess, from northern Svealand and further north, there will probably be snow even on Christmas Eve, says Linda Eriksson and continues:
– If it is the case that it gets a little colder towards the end of next week and also draws in areas of precipitation, it could actually fill up with snow in southern Sweden. Santa may have spikes.
How certain is a forecast like this?
– It is of course not certain and since we are also in a rather unstable situation with several precipitation areas and low pressure moving in over the country, it is an uncertain forecast. As always when it is so far in the future.
