Next week looks set to offer bright sunshine in large parts of the country.
The question that all Swedes ask themselves now is: How will it be in midsummer?
Meteorologist Peter Kondrup may have the answer.
Next week will be both dry and sunny. As early as tomorrow Sunday the temperatures will rise.
– And on Monday it is still sunny in several places and on Tuesday the temperatures started to rise to 27-28 degrees, says Peter Kondrup, meteorologist.
And on Wednesday, the temperature could hit a year’s best, when it looks set to climb over the magical 30-degree mark.
– It will most likely take place somewhere in Central Sweden, in the Mälardalen, or even up towards the south-east of Norrland, says Peter Kondrup.
But as early as Thursday, a new year’s best can be set, when the thermostat can show levels well above 30 degrees.
This is what the weather will be like in midsummer
The warm weather looks like it could stay through midsummer. Broad forecasts until Monday the 19th show that the high pressure remains over the country. After that, it becomes more difficult to forecast the weather.
But meteorologist Peter Kondrup has taken up the challenge. Using an American weather model, he has developed curves that can show whether it is rubber boots – or sandals that apply in midsummer.

– It is a model called GFS and provides forecasts for the weather for the whole world. It swings a lot. You make four runs per day and there can be a difference of up to 18 degrees between the forecasts, he says and continues:
– It could be 30 degrees, it could be 12 – but most likely it will be somewhere in between. Maybe a little over 20 degrees, which is fairly normal midsummer weather.
