Urheilu’s new look can be seen for the first time in the broadcasts of the European Athletics Championships.

Urheilu’s new look will be shown on the channels for the first time on June 7, during the broadcasts of the European Athletics Championships.
The reform is the biggest in more than ten years. In the reform, we want to invest even more in visual content production. With the help of the innovation, visual narration can be taken to a new level.
– Urheilu offers every Finn the opportunity to enjoy a diverse range of sports. We confirm this promise with the interplay of content, narrative and appearance, Urheilu’s head Joose Palonen says.
– Our new look is fresh and distinctive, and it has movement familiar from sports. A super summer of sports is coming, during which Finns will get to know Urheilu’s new look on all our channels.
The big goal is to offer the audience attractive and spectacular video content about sports news. Urheilu strives for an illustrative and in-depth visual approach in its content. Even though Urheiluruutu is renewed, the content promise that has been in place for 60 years remains.
– By watching the Sports Screen, Finns stay up-to-date on sports news, events and phenomena every night. The classic product develops over time, as it always has, says Urheilu’s editorial manager Elisa Jussila.
The sports screen has developed by leaps and bounds during its 60-year history. Once upon a time, the Sports Square started with an emblem of a rooster running over the hills. Since then, the logo has changed several times over the years.
The sports screen started in 1963, when sports got its own news program editor Anssi Kukkonen at the instigation of. At first, sports news was reported only on Sundays, but soon they were also broadcast on Thursdays and Saturdays. Sports box started as a daily in 1993.
