Utrecht participants raise the most money during Night of the Refugee
People who took part in the Night of the Refugee left from various cities in the Netherlands, such as The Hague, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Nijmegen and Utrecht. In Utrecht, 400 participants started on the 20 kilometer version of and 650 people walked 40 kilometers to raise money for charity. For example, the people of Utrecht together raised just over 320,000 euros. That is the highest amount of all cities that participated.
By walking all night, the 4000 participants in the Night of the Refugee raised just over 1.1 million euros for aid to refugees. Utrecht walkers made a significant contribution to this: no fewer than 1050 walkers left the city, the most of all departure points.
