This is what the new MMORPG Throne and Liberty is like one month after its release

It’s been a month since the release of Throne and Liberty. Time for a conclusion on how the MMORPG is currently doing.

Where does Throne and Liberty currently stand? The MMORPG went into early access on September 26th for everyone who was willing to spend money on the free MMORPG. Everyone else couldn’t start until a few days later. The routine has now returned to the MMORPG. Fewer and fewer new milestones are being unlocked and most players have already seen the most important content.

Throne and Liberty player numbers are currently falling daily and the hype surrounding the game is waning. Reason enough to take a look at what’s currently happening in Throne and Liberty.

Who is writing here? Cedric Holmeier is an Asia MMORPG expert at MeinMMO. He has already accumulated thousands of hours in Asian MMORPGs, including Swords of Legends Online, Jade Dynasty and the classic Metin 2. In Throne and Liberty he plays in one of the top guilds. There is currently no boss in the game that Cedric hasn’t killed yet. For MeinMMO he also likes to go into random groups to see how they overcome the challenges.

Two games in one MMORPG

Throne and Liberty has a big special feature because there are actually two games in the MMORPG. On the one hand, there are the normal players who run their dungeons every day, fight the PvE field bosses and work on improving their characters.

They probably make up the majority of the players. Throne and Liberty achievements on Steam are the best indicator of how well the average player is progressing. There is an achievement on Steam for completing a boss for the first time. It usually takes over a week before the number of people who have completed the achievements clears the 5 percent hurdle.

So the masses have slowly defeated all the bosses, upgraded their characters and are approaching the end of the new content.

The meta game

Anyone who plays Throne and Liberty as a hardcore player in one of the top guilds not only experiences a lot more content, but also has completely different tasks in mind. Instead of just killing a boss, it’s suddenly about ensuring that as few others as possible get loot from it.

The activity points suddenly become important and some people have had plans to conquer the castle for months.

The hardcore players of Throne and Liberty play their own game, and when they come into contact with the regulars, they don’t make the game any more fun.

Is Throne and Liberty still fun?

Even if the number of players is falling and the hype is waning, the game still seems to be well received by players a month after its release. For the average player, however, there slowly comes a point where they reach the end of their game.

Improving your character is still the main task, but doing the same few dungeons over and over again, with no new content in sight, is not motivating.

For the hardcore players, however, the castle siege is just getting started and the new content in this area will probably keep the game fresh for these types of players for a long time.

It will be interesting to see what the game looks like later, around three months after release. Then all players will probably know all the content by heart and the developers will have to deliver.

After all: The level 2 dungeons are scheduled to be released in November and bring fresh challenges to the players. Whether that is enough remains to be seen.
