At Christmas time, many people choose to buy Christmas presents online and then have them delivered by courier services.
Right now, several stores are reporting extended delivery times, due to extra high pressure. And when there are a lot of packages in motion, it can happen that your package gets lost in the crowd, if you’re unlucky.
It happens if your package gets lost
News24 have talked to Ann Sonne, press contact at Instabee, about what actually happens if one’s package goes missing.
According to Ann Sonne, it is unusual for packages to disappear, as they are scanned so many times in the process.
– Each package is scanned around three to five times during the time that we handle it, so if a package should go missing, we can clearly see in which part of the chain and in this way dial in what may have happened, Ann Sonne tells Nyheter24.
Then your package delivery may be delayed – according to the courier service: “Not unusual”
There is an employee who ensures safety through the flow
There must also be an employee who has extra control over the flow of packages, so that none can get lost on the way.
– We have a safety responsible employee who works both proactively and reactively to ensure safety through the flow. We also have processes in place to identify any lost packages and separate handling of more valuable goods.
So the odds of a package going missing should be very small and you should normally receive your delivery within one to two working days, Ann Sonne tells Nyheter24.
Postnord’s warning – you should be aware of this before Christmas shopping
