Maxton Hall – The World Between Us has become a real series phenomenon on Amazon Prime Video in recent weeks and has stormed the streamer’s charts in numerous countries. The series captivates with the dramatic and fiery love story between the wealthy James Beaufort (Damian Hardung) and the scholarship holder Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbig-Matten) at the eponymous British elite college.
However, the turbulent and toxic relationship between James and Ruby is not something that the Maxton Hall stars personally approve of. As they revealed in an interview with Movieweb, they have specific wishes for their characters in season 2 ‒ which includes a therapy visit for James.
Damian Hardung wants self-reflection and communication for his Maxton Hall character
The first season of the hit series leaves James with a real personal tragedy. The death of his mother tears the teenager from his bold high after his reunion with Ruby and the Oxford interview. Damian Hardung is therefore clear about what he wants for James in season 2:
I just want James to go to therapy. Honestly, I just want him to be able to work on himself and be able to adequately communicate his feelings to the rest of the world.

Harriet Herbig-Matten would also advise her character Ruby to take care of herself and to let James work on himself first:
I would tell her concentrate on yourself and he also has to work on himself and make decisions and get things done with his family. And maybe the two of them can make it together in the future.
At the same time, Herbig-Matten wishes Ruby and James only the best – even if she has her doubts that everything will go smoothly in season 2:
I hope they make it and find a way to be good to each other. And that James follows his dreams and [Ruby] achieved their goals … that they are happy, but that’s not how the world works.
When is Maxton Hall Season 2 coming to Amazon?
The second season of Maxton Hall has already been officially confirmed by Amazon. Depending on when filming at Marienburg Castle can be resumed or a replacement location is found, new episodes of the hit series could be available to us 2025 on Amazon Prime Video.
