This is what bothers us the most during video meetings

Family members moving in the background and participants participating without the camera on. These are examples of things that bother us when it comes to digital meetings, according to a new survey.

Remote work has become a new everyday life for many, not least after the pandemic, and the video meetings replace each other. But anyone who has had a video meeting has likely experienced that the meetings do not always work completely painlessly.

A new survey, conducted by Kantar Sifo on behalf of Dell Technologies, shows what bothers us the most when it comes to video meetings, which Computersweden previously wrote about.

– Almost a third think that disturbing noises in the background are the most annoying, says tech expert Evelina Galli in Efter fem.

Off camera not popular

We think the second most disturbing is when other participants do something other than actively participate in the meeting, such as fiddling with the phone or answering emails and the like. Then it ends up that family members move in the background, that participants forget to remove “mute” before they start talking, and that participants participate without the camera on.

– I always neglect to turn on the camera, says host Henrik Alsterdal in Efter fem.

– It’s still a bit rude, counters Evelina Galli.

Stockholmers mostly care about the spiciness

The survey also shows that Stockholmers are the most inclined in the country when it comes to having a dedicated place for the video meeting that they spiffed up, while the people of Småland care the least about this.

• Participants do something else during the meeting (22%)

• Participants have family members moving in the background (19%)

• Participants forget to remove “mute” when speaking (17%)
