Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan is considered one of the best films of all time and won five Oscars in 1999. The shocking war film was remembered primarily for its unforgettable opening scene, which alone cost as much as a small feature film today.
The best version of the masterpiece you can experience it with the 4K version, which also includes the Blu-ray. The picture is even more detailed and the modern technologies Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are supported.

Private James Ryan in the best version: This is what the 4K Blu-ray offers
With the 4K version * you get a significant upgrade to the Blu-ray version (which is also included). The Oscar-winning sound is even available in the 3D audio format Dolby Atmos, but only in the original English dub. When Tom Hanks, Matt Damon and Co. run through the hail of bullets and flee from grenade attacks, the tension rises immeasurably. The German dubbing, however, is “only” available as a 5.1 Dolby version.
Visually, the 4K version offers one higher level of detail and Dolby Vision. However, the higher resolution also increases the film grain, which may bother some of you, but provides just the right nostalgic look for others. We could also criticize at a high level the perhaps somewhat too frequent blurring effects.
The war drama starring Tom Hanks is both action-packed and profound
Saving Private Ryan is considered a classic war film – and rightly so. But in addition to the violent and realistic scenes, screenwriter Robert Rodat also incorporated a moral question into the film: How much is a human life worth?
Captain John Miller (Tom Hanks) and his squad of eight men have to travel through embattled France to deliver the news to Private Ryan (Matt Damon) that he will be released early from military service. A message that his rescuers naturally also want, which leads to discontent among the troops. Why should they risk their lives to save that of one individual?
