this is the best launch in PlayStation history

To say that God of War Ragnarök was eagerly awaited by its audience is a mild understatement. The game developed by the Santa Monica studio has just achieved the best start in the history of PlayStation Studios games with no less than 5.1 million copies sold in just 5 days of operation. The title therefore does better than The Last of Us Part 2, released in June 2020 and which was considered until now to be the record in terms of sales at launch, with more than 4 million copies sold in the first 3 days. For comparison, the first God of War (that of 2018 eh) had generated 3.1 million sales when it was launched. We had already had some clues as to the sales performance of this God of War Ragnarök a few days ago with the figures from Great Britain. With such a new record, Sony Interactive Entertainment reinforces its philosophy of betting on strong narrative single-player games, the DNA of its know-how. A success which did not fail to alert PETA, the animal rights association, which was indignant that Kratos and Atreus mistreated Garm, the famous wolf from Norse mythology, during a boss fight they deemed unnecessary. Cory Barlog, the game’s producer and mastermind, was even asked to set up a “PETA” mode where you don’t need to harm animals in the game…
