Sony is currently celebrating the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation with a trailer. A short scene in the video causes fans of one of the best games of the PS4 era to gasp.
What game is it about? If you look at the numerous hits that FromSoftware has released over the past 15 years, one thing stands out: almost all of the important “Souls” games have been released for different platforms or have received a modern new edition (Demon’s Souls).
Only Bloodborne – one of the best games of the PlayStation 4 era (with a Metacritic average of 92) – has only been released on the PS4 and has never received a next-gen update, for example to optimize performance and maintain a constant 60 to offer images per second.
The atmospheric adventure in Yharnam is so popular that players have been asking for a technical update, a full new edition, a PC release or a second part for many years – accompanied by countless fan trailers that show the locations from Bloodborne in the Unreal Show Engine 5 (for example here on YouTube).
Bloodborne is already nine years old, but has lost none of its fascination and class:
Every year the rumor mill greets you
What does the Sony trailer show? The video for the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation (via YouTube), which is just over two minutes long, strings together scenes from well-known franchises such as Horizon, Uncharted, God of War or Spider-Man, each accompanied by a sentence that represents one of the games currently being shown addresses the topics covered. Metal Gear Solid is about honor, God of War is about family.
In the very last gameplay scene of the trailer, Bloodborne of all things can be seen, accompanied by the text: “It’s about persistence”. On the one hand, this is of course something that characterizes all of FromSoftware’s Souls games, but on the other hand, it also appeals to many fans who have been waiting for news about the Bloodborne franchise for many years.
How does the community react? A post on Reddit shows what this short scene triggers for many players, which has already received more than 10,200 upvotes and more than 600 comments.
How realistic is an announcement? Some fans are basing their hopes for an announcement for the Bloodborne brand on further pillars:
At the same time, you should know that you have to go way back in time to find a year without Bloodborne rumors and supposed leaks or insider reports. Comparable reports from 2020 to 2023 have turned out to be false across the board. Maybe something will happen if the PlayStation providers actually take over From Software: Sony supposedly wants to buy the company behind Elden Ring – whose shares immediately jump to a new all-time high
