A sprinter Samuli Samuelsson has run a new 100 meter Finnish record of 10.16 at the top games in Porvoo. The Finnish record set in the final was 0.6 m/s downwind.
In the opening heats, Samuelsson was one-hundredth of the way from the Finnish record. At that time, Samuelsson ran 10.22.
The former 100-meter Finnish record is Tommi Hartonen in 2001 ran 10.21.
Samuelsson’s former personal 100 meter record of 10.27 is from last summer’s Kuortanene Games. Before the race day in Porvoo, Samuelsson had run 10.31 at his hardest this season.
